As a mid-forties guy i have been looking over of my skin for the last couple of years. The unwanted dryness and few wrinkles made me decide on these type of products.

Furthermore, when it comes to choosing the right men’s skin care routine, options vary. They could be for hydrating, cleansing, or nourishing purposes, just to name a few. Nevertheless, the many of offerings presented by the beauty industry can often seem overwhelming

After trying a good amount of options, products and techniques, I can safely say that i found a handful of products which i use daily with fantastic results, leaving my skin feeling fresh, smooth, clean and healthy.

After reading, watching and hearing about different solutions of a men’s skin care routine, advices and products, you will see that my list is a simple one, but to me, very effective.

I am also open to explore other brands and products that may be appealing or trendy but for now, I’m sticking to my current minimal list of goodies.

So if you are in your mid-forties and sometimes your face and body feels a little rough, then try these ones out and feel the change.

BONDI WASH

Is an Australian company that we discovered only last month and so far, it is working great.

They are listed as vegan (for the most part) except for two products that contain beeswax on them, but other than that they have listed a whole lot of natural ingredients which is nice to see. 

BONDI WASH – BODY WASH –

This body wash from BONDI WASH is refreshing, aromatic and a subtle body wash. Vegan brands usually claim that these type of products are known to create a very little foam, which in this case, it is very accurate. A great option for a nice men’s skin care routine.

This body wash will leave your body feeling fresh and with a nice smell of Sydney Peppermint and Rosemary. This is great if you wear perfume daily as it won’t affect the performance of your scent of choice.

This one, also from BONDI WASH, it has the smell of Sydney peppermint and Rosemary as well. It is a light type of lotion with a great absorption and will leave your body feeling great for hours. A little goes a long way with this one.

KIEHL’S

When it comes to beauty products, KIEHL’S is common history by now. What started as an American pharmacy back in the 1800’s it has turned into a universal giant amongst the names in the beauty industry. Amazing offerings you can find from them.

KIEHL’S – AGE DEFENDER CREAM MOISTURIZER-

The very first cream I started using for the hydration purposes was Kiehl’s “OG” Ultra Facial Cream but for a couple of years, their Age Defender Hydrating face cream was the one I had daily as it is also claimed to be anti wrinkle, firming, lifting, etc. Since few weeks ago though, I started using it few days a week and only at night time.

Because it is light in texture and It has a great absorption, it is a great alternative for hydrating your face before going to bed. This is listed as a day cream but in my opinion, it also works great at night.

KIEHL’S – OIL ELIMINATOR FACE WASH-

The oil eliminator face scrub/wash from KIEHL’S is the one I use and enjoy. I have tried other ones from the brand but this one feels the best.

The fact that it can be used daily and not only a couple of times a week makes this scrub an amazing option when you pair it with some of their other great hydrating creams. It has a fruity smell and a refreshing feeling.

KIEHL’S origins are way back to 1851 is the form of an apothecary located at the corner of 13th Street and Third Avenue in the Big city of New York.

AESOP

This Australian based brand is being around since 1987 and what we can tell you for sure is that their presentation and aesthetics are a symbol of tasteful design, simplicity and high quality.

Just to look at their website and images of their official shops is a visual treat. Same with their product presentation, a timeless design.

AESOP is completely vegan and against animal testing, which is great.

AESOP – PARSLEY SEED ANTI OXIDANT/HYDRATING CREAM –

This AESOP antioxidant & Hydrating Parsley Seed cream is the one I am currently using as a daytime and every day cream. This brand was in our radar for a while but we didn’t pull the trigger as it is not available in Slovenia unless you buy them Online. Now that I am using it for a month I have to say that this cream is phenomenal and it has an excellent lasting power.

A little amount goes a long way with this one which is great.

The texture is a little sticky/gluey though. Once applied, you will have to rub it well so you don’t look like a mime. When it is finally absorbed, you will be left with a refreshing feeling that will last you the whole day… and the smell is amazing!

So far so great with this product and we are looking forward to explore more into the world of AESOP

This is also hard to get but another alternative and equally incredible is their Aesop Primrose Facial Hydrating Cream 60ml. We had it and it’s amazing. You can get yours HERE

AESOP concept is so unique that is causing competitors to copy their style…but they have failed miserably.

KIEHL’S – BEARD OIL –

The final touch for a men’s skin care routine will be with the Nourishing Beard Grooming oil also from KIEHL’S.

After trying several options with different brands, the skin under my beard got so dry that I started noticing the formation of dandruff, which sucks!…But after doing the whole routine with their oil eliminator face scrub and applying this specific oil, the problem got fixed in a couple of days which was amazing to see.

The texture of this oil is not too thick, and once you apply it, your beard will look fresh and clean. The smell is very woody as it has sandalwood, cedar and Eucalyptus listed as essential oils. The only downside is that this thing comes with no pipet so you really have no fine control over what you need to apply. Other than that, it is a great choice for us bearded dudes.

Besides my satisfaction with these specifics products i have also the opinion from my wife to reassure my claim. Some of Marusa’s comments were that my skin feels softer since i started to use this skin routine. She also loves the smell on my beard after wearing this specific beard oil as she loves the woodsy notes as well which is great, so if you are looking for a “low key” ritual to keep your face and body feeling smooth and fresh and also to get some good feedback from your spouse or partner, then hopefully this list will help you out.
