Some intro…
The Fascinating World of Al Shareef Oudh and their Middle Eastern Ultra niche Fragrances.
Middle Eastern countries and perfumers are known for their exotic fragrances, which have been used in religious ceremonies, social gatherings, and personal grooming.
In recent years, Middle Eastern perfumery has gained popularity in the western world, with an increasing number of fragrance enthusiasts seeking out unique scents from the region. In this blog post, we will look into some of the history of Middle Eastern perfumery and its impact on the western world, and we will showcase Al Shareef Oudh which is one of the most exclusive Ultra niche perfume brands available at the moment.
History a little?
The history of Middle Eastern perfumery can be traced back to ancient times. The Egyptians were famous for their use of fragrances, which were used for both medicinal and cosmetic purposes. They created perfumes using natural ingredients such as myrrh, frankincense, and lotus flowers. The Greeks and Romans were also known for their love of fragrances, and they introduced new techniques for making perfumes, such as distillation.
In the 7th century Islamic culture placed personal hygiene, and the use of fragrances as an important part of their culture. The Islamic Golden Age (8th to 13th century) saw the development of new techniques for making perfumes, including the use of steam distillation. Arabic perfumers also introduced new fragrances, such as musk and amber, which became popular throughout the Muslim world.
During the Ottoman Empire (1299-1922), Turkish perfumery became renowned for its exotic and luxurious scents. Ottoman perfumers used a wide range of ingredients, including rose, jasmine, and sandalwood, to create fragrances that were both complex and harmonious.
The Ottoman Empire was also known for its production of attar, a type of perfume oil made from distilled flowers, which is still popular in the Middle East today.
In recent years, Middle Eastern perfumery has gained increasing popularity in the western world. This can be attributed to several factors, including the rise of niche fragrances and the increasing interest in natural and organic ingredients. Middle Eastern perfumes are often made using natural ingredients such as oud, rose, musks and a few others which are highly prized for their unique and complex scents.
Al Shareef Oudh, An Ultra niche perfume experience
One of the most famous and ancient Middle Eastern ingredients in perfumery is oud. This is a precious wood that is derived from the Agar tree and has a rich scent that is both exotic and luxurious. Oud is often used as a base note in perfumes, adding depth and complexity to the fragrance.
That leads us to Al Shareef Jawed, who is a third generation master perfumer and the creator of the Ultra niche perfume house of Al Shareef Oudh. He has kept the ancient tradition of creating the most opulent, exclusive and luxurious perfumes that we have had the opportunity to try and enjoy. This sentiment is shared by a large group of luxury perfume collectors and connoisseurs.
Al Shareef Oudh produces their own agarwood oil, rose, musks, resins and incense to name a few. The brand creates the most complex blends by using ancient methods of distillation to extract the essential oils from the wood and the other raw materials, preserving the purity and potency of the fragrances. The brand uses only quality raw materials to create its fragrances, ensuring that every scent is of exceptional quality and richness.
Al Shareef Oudh has mastered the craft of producing custom and regal Attars and Mukhallats that are used by Arabian royals but also has managed to create perfumes that made an impact into the western world with their opulence, originality, complexity and long lasting power.
The brand has five exclusive and unique fragrances in their line up. Four of them are available at any time but the fifth one is a limited edition only (More on that down below)
All these fragrances come in a 30ML of pure luxurious perfume extrait.
